What significance does the pandemic with the novel corona virus have for contracts concluded by entrepreneurs?
Currently, some of our corporate clients have already received letters from contractual partners (e. g. suppliers) who wish to cancel or postpone contractual obligations or use other wording to discharge their contractual obligations by referring to the corona crisis. This concerns, among other things, the issue and acceptance of deliveries, the provision and receipt of services, and the provision of maintenance services.
The utmost caution is required with these letters! Under no circumstances should such a letter or inquiry go unanswered — there is a risk that you will lose the rights you are entitled to under the contract! You should therefore react accordingly in order to protect your rights and to avoid uncertainties resulting from the current situation as far as possible.
